Cherupayar Verukkapputti Cheela recipe

Cherupayar Verukkapputti Cheela/Sprouted moong methi cheela is a good source of vitamin C and an excellent source of beta carotene and lutein. HINT: It helps in improving vision and maintenance of healthy skin.

Serves: 9 persons

Ingredients
Sprouts
100 Grams
Black gram dal
50 Grams
Fenugreek leaves
100 Grams
Chillies green - all varieties
10 Grams
Ginger fresh
5 Grams
Turmeric powder
5 Grams
Rice bran oil
5 Tea Spoon
Salt
2.5 Grams
Water
100 Milliliter
Instructions

Prepare the batter
Wash urad dal thoroughly and soak it for four hours. Drain water and grind it along with moong sprouts, green chillies, ginger,water, grind to a smooth paste.

Mix fenugreek leaves
Transfer into a mixing bowl, mix in the finely chopped methi leaves, salt and turmeric powder. Check the consistency of the batter.Add more water if required.

Cook the cheela
Check the salt and spice levels. Prepare the dosa pan, spread the batter with a ladle, add ½ to 1 tsp of oil around the edges. cover and cook the cheela for 2 minutes or till it gets cooked well. Flip over and press gently making sure cheela gets cooked from both sides.

Serve it
Serve hot with chutney.
