Ingredients

Ghee clarified butter
2 Table Spoon
Whole wheat flour
300 Grams
Cumin seeds
1 Tea Spoon
Salt
0.5 Tea Spoon
Water
100 Milliliter
Baking powder
0.5 Tea Spoon

Instructions

1
Dough preparation
In a bowl take whole wheat flour, slightly crushed cumin seeds, baking powder, and salt. Mix very well. Now add ghee. Rub the ghee in the flour till you get a breadcrumb-like texture in the flour. Now add water in parts and knead to a semi-soft dough.
2
Making phulka
Divide the dough into small equal-sized portions. Take each portion and make round balls out of it. Start rolling out the dough until we get around or circular disc-like shaped roti.
3
Cooking
Heat the tawa /skillet. Take the roti in your hands and place it on the tawa. Cook the bottom side for few seconds on medium flame. When slight air bubbles appear at the top flip the roti and cook the other side very well. Immediately take the roti out on a plate.
4
Serving
Place the rotis on a plate. Serve hot with veg stir-fries or veg curries and dal.
