The Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Series 11 are Apple's two premium smartwatches. Both have the same full health monitoring suite — ECG, blood oxygen, blood pressure alerts, sleep stages, and skin temperature.
The Ultra 3 costs ₹87,900; the Series 11 starts at ₹45,900.
That ₹42,000 gap is the question this guide answers: what exactly does the Ultra 3 add, and is it worth it for you?

This is the most important thing to understand before comparing the two watches: the health monitoring suite is the same on the Ultra 3 and Series 11. ECG, blood oxygen, blood pressure alerts, skin temperature, sleep stages, and heart rate — all present on both models.
You do not get better health data by buying the Ultra 3. If your reason for choosing between these two watches is health monitoring, the Series 11 at ₹45,900 does everything the Ultra 3 does for health at less than half the price.
The Ultra 3's premium is entirely in performance, durability, and extreme-use capability — which we'll cover below.
| Mode | Ultra 3 | Series 11 |
|---|---|---|
| Standard use | 36 hours | 18 hours |
| Low Power Mode | 72 hours | 36 hours |
The Ultra 3 lasts twice as long as the Series 11 in every mode. In practical terms:
Series 11: Needs charging every night. With disciplined overnight charging, it works fine for daily use and sleep tracking — but you need to find a charging window daily. It cannot support activities lasting more than 18–20 hours without a charge.
Ultra 3: Charge every 1–2 days in standard use. In Low Power Mode, 72 hours is enough for most ultramarathons, a Himalayan multi-day trek, or a 3-day expedition — activities where the Series 11 would run out mid-event. For triathlons, overnight trail races, and back-to-back long activity days, the Ultra 3's battery is not just convenient — it is enabling.
For everyday use — gym, commute, daily health monitoring — the Series 11's 18-hour battery is entirely sufficient with overnight charging. The Ultra 3's battery advantage is only meaningful if your activities genuinely exceed what the Series 11 can cover.
The Ultra 3 uses dual-frequency GPS (L1 + L5 simultaneously). The Series 11 uses standard single-frequency L1 GPS.
L5 GPS is a newer, stronger signal with better penetration in environments where standard GPS struggles: dense forest canopy, mountain valleys, and urban canyons with tall buildings. In practice:
For road running, park runs, and gym workouts: The difference is minimal. Both watches track routes accurately in open environments.
For trail running in the Western Ghats or Himalayas, dense forest, or urban canyon environments: The Ultra 3's dual-frequency GPS produces cleaner route traces, more stable pace data, and more accurate distance — particularly on technical terrain where signal obstruction is common.
For Indian buyers who trek or trail run in forested or mountainous terrain, the GPS accuracy difference is real and noticeable. For city runners and gym users, it makes no practical difference.
For daily office-to-gym use, the Series 11's aluminium and Ion-X glass are perfectly fine. For extended outdoor activity in harsh conditions — altitude, extreme cold, rock surfaces, heavy rain — the Ultra 3's build quality provides meaningful real-world protection.
The Ultra 3 is the only Apple Watch that can be used for recreational scuba diving. It is certified to EN13319 dive computer standards, water resistant to 100m, and includes a depth gauge and water temperature sensor. The Oceanic+ dive app is natively supported.
The Series 11 is rated to 50m — suitable for swimming and snorkelling, but not for recreational scuba diving. If diving is part of your life in India — Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Pondicherry, Goa — the Ultra 3 is the only Apple Watch choice.
The Ultra 3 has an 86 dB siren activated via long-press on the Action Button — audible from approximately 180 metres. For solo trekkers, trail runners in remote areas, or anyone venturing into terrain where a distress signal could matter, this is a genuine safety feature with no equivalent on the Series 11.
The Action Button on the left side of the case is a customisable hardware button that maps to functions like start/stop workout, set waypoint, activate the flashlight, or trigger the dive app. It is faster than navigating the touchscreen mid-activity, especially with wet hands or gloves.
Neither the siren nor the Action Button is available on the Series 11.
The Ultra 3's 49mm case is deliberately large — designed for readability during sport and for a prominent, confident aesthetic. On smaller wrists, it dominates; on larger wrists or worn with athletic confidence, it looks and wears well.
The Series 11 in 42mm is the most comfortable option for smaller wrists, and the 46mm gives more display area without going to the Ultra 3's scale. If case size is a concern, the Series 11 42mm is the more wearable daily watch for most people.

The Ultra 3 is a better watch than the Series 11 in the scenarios it is designed for. If you genuinely use what it offers — 72-hour battery for endurance events, dual-frequency GPS for technical terrain, 100m dive certification — the ₹42,000 premium is justified by real capability you cannot get from the Series 11.
But the health monitoring suite is identical on both. For the majority of Apple Watch users — even fitness-focused ones — daily use does not push against the boundaries the Ultra 3 was built for. The Series 11 at ₹45,900 provides the full Apple Watch health experience in a lighter, more versatile form factor at roughly half the price.
Buy the Ultra 3 for what it does that the Series 11 cannot. Buy the Series 11 for everything else.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 vs Series 11 — which is better? The Ultra 3 is better for endurance athletes, trekkers, and divers who need a 72-hour battery, dual-frequency GPS, 100m water resistance, and extreme durability. The Series 11 is better for everyday use — it has the same health sensors at ₹45,900 vs ₹87,900. Both have ECG, blood oxygen, blood pressure alerts, and sleep tracking.
Do the Ultra 3 and Series 11 have the same health features? Yes. The health monitoring suite is identical on both: ECG, blood oxygen, blood pressure alerts, skin temperature, sleep stages, heart rate, HRV, menstrual cycle tracking, and crash detection. You do not gain additional health capabilities by choosing the Ultra 3 over the Series 11.
Is the Apple Watch Ultra 3 worth the extra money over the Series 11? It depends entirely on your use case. If you do multi-day endurance events, trail running in dense terrain, or recreational scuba diving, the Ultra 3 is worth it — those capabilities are genuinely unavailable on the Series 11. If you want the full Apple Watch health experience for daily use, gym, and casual sport, the Series 11 delivers identical health data at roughly half the price.
What is the Apple Watch Ultra 3 price in India? The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is ₹87,900 at Clearcals for both Natural and Black Titanium variants — ₹2,000 below Apple India MRP. Every purchase includes 12 months of Hint Pro free (worth ₹3,599).
What is the Apple Watch Series 11 price in India? The Apple Watch Series 11 starts at ₹45,900 at Clearcals for the GPS 42mm aluminium variant — ₹1,000 below Apple India MRP. It goes up to ₹83,900 for the GPS + Cellular Titanium variant. Every purchase includes 3 months of Hint Pro free (worth ₹1,199).
Can the Series 11 be used for scuba diving? No. The Series 11 is water resistant to 50m, suitable for swimming and snorkelling, but not rated for recreational scuba diving. The Ultra 3 is the only Apple Watch certified to EN13319 dive computer standards and is suitable for recreational scuba diving up to its certified depth range.
Which Apple Watch has better GPS — Ultra 3 or Series 11? The Ultra 3 has dual-frequency GPS (L1+L5), which is more accurate in challenging environments: dense forests, mountain valleys, and urban canyons. The Series 11 uses standard L1 GPS, which is accurate in open environments. For road running and everyday use, the difference is minimal; for trail running and trekking in India's varied terrain, it is noticeable.
